Hi there, my name is Justin. Throughout my experience in the psychology field, I have had the opportunity to serve a wide range of clients. I have provided mental health services for teens and adults from a diverse set of ethnicities and backgrounds. However it wasn’t until I began working with children that I learned where my true passion lies. Here at Bloom Play Therapy, I seek to aid children in realizing their full potential, to thrive in the face of adversity, and to have some fun along the way. I strive to provide children with a safe, consistent, non-judgmental environment where they can express themselves and work through their problems with unconditional positive support.
Throughout this journey I will work closely with the guardian(s) of the child, scheduling additional sessions to discuss progress and address concerns as they arise. There is a profound joy to be found in working with children; it requires a dynamic flexibility that I can provide with my services. I recognize the immense amount of trust that a guardian places in a therapist when deciding that Play Therapy is right for their child. I will do everything in my power to cherish and maintain that trust and acceptance, both with the child and the guardian(s).
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Psychology from Portland State University and a Master’s Degree of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Western Oregon University. I completed a graduate counseling internship with Community Action Head Start based in Oregon. During the internship process I was trained in Child-Directed Play Therapy and Filial Therapy and worked with individuals impacted by low socioeconomic status. I am certified with the CRC and I am currently a Registered Intern with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.
